Question: Are you enjoying decorating your new house?

Well I haven’t moved in yet, so we’re still working on that.

Question: When did you understand that swimming was your way of life?

I dont think it’s a way of life. I think it’s more something I enjoy to do.

Question: Who are you dating? Are you and Kaitlin still friends?

I am dating Caroline Burckle. She is on the national team. Kaitlin and I still commmunicate.

Question: What do you think makes you so much better than everyone underwater? What technical aspects do you focus on to make yourself so efficient?

I really don’t know. I don’t think I’m that good under water. I just can do it more than just like two turns.

Question: Hey Ry, are you excited to be graduating? Congrats!

Yes if it’s about school, yes. But not swimming with my team here.

Question: Hey Ryan, well done in Shanghai! I\’m the chinese girl who took a pic with you that Saturday, remember me? I just wanna know which event you are going to major in? IM or Backstroke or freestyle? Or you wanna be more versatile?

I want to try to be more versatile; as much as posible. Yes, I remember the picture we took.

Question: I would like to know how often you swim and how much?

I make 9 practices a week. Usually two on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. And singles on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Each practice is like around 6-8 thousand.

Question: Do you think that you’re more powerful this year than the last and why?

I definitely think I’m more powerful this year than last year because of my training; not just in the pool but weights and dryland too.

Question: What is a recent hardship that you have gone through?

I guess it would have to be the whole going pro thing.

Question: I was just wondering if its true you skateboard and if you do, what board do you use and if you are goofy or regular?

I have a sector 9 and a black label short board. I skate regular.
